A Moment of Praise

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God.
Romans 11:33
Paul composed one of my favorite doxologies, an expression of praise and glory directed to God. After reflecting upon how God spread the Gospel of Christ’s death and resurrection to the Gentiles, he bursts into praise for the wonder of God’s plan.
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God.
How unsearchable his judgments,
And His paths are beyond tracing out.
Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or, who has been His counselor?
Who has ever given to God,
That God should repay him?
For from him and through him and for Him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen (Romans 11:33-36, NIV)
Each day brings with it much more than grief and healing from narcissistic trauma. Even though I allow for times of grieving, I also make time for friendships, walks, sips of warm tea, and reflections on the gift of life. Paul’s doxology offers the perfect way to end my day, “for from him and through him and to him are all things.”
Father, thank you that Your plan, judgements, and ways are far beyond my ability to understand. I trust You as my counselor and for Your wisdom and knowledge of my life. To You and Your Son, Jesus, be the glory forever! Amen.
