About the Author

Alice persevered over four decades in marriage to an undiagnosed covert narcissist. Her major in education and psychology at a prestigious university failed to provide the foundation she needed for building a life with an emotionally complex spouse.

 

The empty-nest-season-of-life following the hubbub of raising four children, only amplified the disconnect and confusion she felt in the relationship. After retiring from over six years in education and twenty years of ministry on church staff, she looked forward to having the time to fully invest in developing the emotional connection she longed for in marriage.

 

A year of unexpected separation and intense counseling revealed what she never anticipated—her life’s partner was incapable of all the things she had hoped for and prayed for. Her complex grief birthed this primer, Now I Get It!
